As one of the country’s largest hospital construction projects and the first new North County San Diego hospital in 30 years, the new campus has already captured the attention of health care professionals worldwide for its use of nature, light and space — all designed to speed healing.

Located in Northern San Diego County, this 360 bed, 740,000 square foot hospital was completed in 2011.

Key speciality contractors from design and construction were integrated into the project very early on, which resulted in a more efficient design that both reduced cost and accelerated the schedule.   The structural steel was fabricated and erected $7.2 million under budget and 6 weeks ahead of schedule. The erection was completed with zero change orders and one quarter of the typical number of RFI’s.
