Assistant Construction Manager

Job Description

  • Manage field operations on multiple projects
  • Assist in development of project construction budgets
  • Ensure project performance to budget
  • Weekly progress reporting
  • Coordinate with Project Manager,  Shop Superintendent and QA/QC
  • Establish and maintain project erection schedule
  • Assist with Project Superintendent assignment
  • Review ironworker manpower with superintendents
  • Determine project specific safety requirements.
  • Determine project equipment requirements.
  • Provide input to estimating dept.
  • Develop positive working relationship with General Contractors, IOR’s and subcontractors

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years as Ironworker Superintendent or General Superintendent
  • Strong organizational, communication and  leadership skills
  • Ability to produce a detailed project schedule using MS Project, P3 or similar software
  • Fundamental knowledge of Cal OSHA, AISC  and AWS requirements
  • Travel to project sites and meetings in Northern and Southern California as necessary

Chief Estimator

Job Description:

  • Manage in-house estimating department
  • Coordinate with Senior Management, Sales, Purchasing, Project Management, Fabrication and Construction teams
  • Coordinate with outside subcontractors and vendors
  • Overall responsibility for preparation of estimates for new projects and change orders
  • Monitor actual project costs verses estimates
  • Responsible for ongoing training and mentoring of in-house estimating staff

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years experience in the structural steel industry
  • Experience in the west coast seismic market would be an advantage
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills

Project Engineer

Job Description

  • Review, prepare, manage and log RFIs on Procore system (software specific training is provided)
  • Review design drawings and specifications for constructability
  • Setup project details in conformance with company standards
  • Prepare shop and field welding procedures
  • Review and submit shop drawings for design team approval
  • Assist Project Manager with other responsibilities as assigned

Job Requirements

  • Engineering, Architectural or Construction Management degree, or equivalent experience
  • Ability to read plans and specifications
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • 3D modeling experience using Tekla Structures, Autodesk 360, Revit or similar software highly desirable

Job Description

  • Develop and maintain project baseline schedule
  • Manage subcontract buyout and performance of work
  • Process subcontractor and owner change orders
  • Estimate cost and schedule impacts due to design changes
  • Review design drawings and specifications for cost-cutting/value engineering alternates
  • Develop schedule of values and process monthly progress billings
  • Review prime contract conditions and ensure compliance with all contract terms

Job Requirements

  • Engineering, Architectural or Construction Management degree, or minimum 10 years of construction management experience
  • Strong organizational, communication and  leadership skills
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationship with Owner, General Contractor, Design team and Subcontractors
  • Thorough understanding of project controls required to effectively manage all activities including project budget development, scheduling, cost control and close out procedures.
  • Fundamental knowledge of building codes, contract law and accounting
  • Travel to project sites and meetings as necessary
